Thrilling Battles and Sourdough Delights: Golden Gate Go Tournament shines at SFGC

Jeremy Chiu was the top winner at the Golden Gate Go Tournament last Saturday, May 20th. The San Francisco Go Club, a bastion of go history – it predates the completion of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge -- and community, served as the venue, bringing together “passionate players for a day of strategic battles and delightful camaraderie,” the club reports.

Amidst the spirited gameplay by participants of all skill levels, attendees were treated to “culinary delight(s) provided by the renowned Boudin Bakery,” as “the scent of clam chowder sourdough bread bowls and sandwiches mingled with the anticipation in the air, creating an ambiance that catered to both the mind and the palate.”

Results; top three winners in each division:

Division 1: 1st place – Jeremy Chiu; 2nd place – Chao Xie; 3rd place – Linden Chiu
Division 2: 1st place – Liam Liu; 2nd place – David Liao; 3rd place – Jun Wu
Division 3: 1st place – Lorence Tsai; 2nd place – Jackson Stogel; 3rd place – TsungYu Tsai
