Lukasz Lew – and rice bowls – tops at SF Go Club tourney

Chris Garlock | Published on 3/22/2023

Lukasz Lew topped the San Francisco Go Club’s Spring Tournament on March 18th, but the “scrumptious” rice bowls from Waraku were also a big winner, reports club president Matthew Barcus.

In Division 1, Lukasz Lew took the top spot, followed by Andrew Li in second and James Lou in third. In Division 2, Liam Liu won first place, Kyle Lam came in second and Nathan Wallace in third.

After the tournament, the SF Go Club celebrated their one-year anniversary of opening their dojo in the Japan Center mall with a festive party. “Guests were treated to a guzheng performance by Angel, a delicious spread of sashimi from Truefish, boba drinks from Yifang Taiwan Fruit Tea, and a lychee cake with rose cream prepared by Syd Shafer,” Barcus tells the EJ. “It was an exciting and joyous day for the SF Go Club!”
