About this event

Registration is now open for the 7th Annual California Go Championship. The player with the best record in the Open section, who is a CA resident and a non-pro, will have her or his name engraved on the perpetual plaque along with such players as Kenin Yang 7-dan, and Calvin Sun 8-dan.
Over 80-players competed in the 2023 State Go Championship.

Registration and full information is at https://GoClubs.org.
The tournament, hosted by the San Diego Go Club, is a 5-round, 2-day event over Thanksgiving weekend, November 30 & December 1 to be held at the San Diego Chess Club in Balboa Park. In addition to the Open section there will be several handicapped sections divided by ability, including a beginners section.
SDGC will again provide breakfast and lunch for all players.

Over $1,000 of prize money will be awarded. There will be a special cash prize to the winner of the Open section regardless of residency and pro-status. The traditional trophy to the youngest player in the Handicap section will continue.
Current American Go Association membership is required as all games will be rated by the AGA.
