He became 1p in 1996 and was promoted to 9p in 2006. 8-time world champion (2006, 2009: LG Cup, 2007, 2015: Chunlan Cup, 2008: Fujitsu Cup, 2009: Toyota Cup, 2009: BC Card Cup, 2010: Samsung Cup). Arguably one of the most successful Chinese professionals.
