The Youth Room program is designed to enhance the Go playing skills of kids and teens 17 years of age and under. A number of professionals and strong amateur players will be on hand to instruct the kids on the subtle depths of the game in a fun and friendly environment. Professional game reviews, lectures and simuls will all be scheduled directly in the room, and youth who want to improve should plan on attending these events. There will also be multiple tournaments, with prizes, scheduled for most days. As some of these events will be taking place at the same time, players should review the weekly schedule and decide which activities they want to attend on each day.
The Youth Room will be open from 1:00 to 5:30 pm every day except Wednesday and the second Sunday.
The Youth Room Pair Go Tournament will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Youth/youth and youth/adult pairs are both fine. Same gender pairs are also allowed as needed. Make sure to find a partner by Tuesday morning if you want to compete.
The Youth Team Tournament will be on Friday, teams of three kids will compete just like in Hikaru no Go. Make sure to have a team by Friday morning.

Important Note to Parents
All afternoon youth activities will take place in the Youth Room. You are responsible for both dropping off and picking up your children at the Youth Room. The Youth Program can only be responsible for your children while they are in the Youth Room itself. A parent should stay in the room if their child is very young and needs any additional care. Non-go playing children and parents are welcome to spend time in the Youth Room, but direct supervision for non players will not be available.
AGF Scholarships
Scholarships of $300 are available for any child under 18. In addition, a $200 Tournament Scholarship is available for kids from North America (Canada, the US, and Mexico) who compete or competed in the North American Kyu Championship, the Redmond Cup, the AGA Girls Cup, the Young Lions Tournament, or the Team Tournament.
