The 2024 Michigan Go Championship, a one-day five round event, has been set for Saturday, April 27 in Madison Heights, Michigan. The event, co-hosted by The American Collegiate Go Association (ACGA) and the Association of Chinese Americans. is open to all players, both college students and non-college students alike. All games are AGA-rated.
“We look forward to seeing players of all ages, levels, and backgrounds at our debut event,” said Organizing Director Jamie Tang said. “Our greatest hope is to see players forge bonds over our love for the enriching game of Go.”
The tournament champion will receive a grand prize of $500, while the state champion will receive $200, and all division winners will receive prizes and physical awards. All Kyu players will be entered into a lottery to play a teaching game with Yihan Guo 7D post-tournament.
