Players from five states competed in the 12th Virginia Open, hosted by the Annandale Go Club from November 25-26.
Xinyu Tu 6D took first place, winning $300; in second place was Leshan Feng 7D ($200) and Samuel Lee 7D was third (($100). The prize pool received partial sponsorship from AGA's Capital Go chapter. In Division A, first place was won by Richard Duan (2022, 2023 Virginia Youth State Champion); in second was Raymond Kim. Winners in Division B were Fangwu Yu (1st), Andrew Liu (2nd) and Fangyi Wu (3rd).
Yang Shuang 2P paid a visit on Nov. 27, and top players took the opportunity to play two friendlies with her.
Upcoming events organized by the northern Virginia club include free Go classes and a rated tournament on Saturday, December 30.
