Blogs and Vlogs

Have you ever had the itch to write about the many interesting experiences you have had playing Go? Or create videos of the places you have visited going to the annual U.S. Go Congress or tournaments? Or perhaps you just wanted to share experiences that you think fellow Go players might enjoy? Then our new Blogs feature is for you!

We've just launched several with content drawn from the archives or with videos from the AGA YouTube site, and we're looking to grow this  with member-generated content! We want to hear from you and help you get started: take a look at the sample blogs and write to contact@usgo.org with your ideas and questions.

All the entries of the popular 50 Years aGO series by Keith Arnold (hka) with Patrick Bannister have been ported from the archives into a blog and are continuing with monthly entries.

A link to the most recent entry is shown in a new section on the home page - Featured Blog Posts. The featured post will rotate regularly on the home page highlighting content from different blogs.

Other well-liked series from the archives are being brought back as blogs, including the Janice Kim Files and William Cobb's philosophical musings in The Empty Board.

Blogs don't have to be text! Vloggers can drop in a video and optionally surround it with text. The in-depth series AlphaGo Vs. the World is moving into a blog/vlog with links back to the AGA's YouTube channel. The first three entries of this series where Michael Redmond and Chris Garlock team up to review these critical games are posted with many more to come.

It is easy to get to the blogs section. There is a new menu item, Blogs, in the menu at the top of each page. Going there allows you to view the various blogs available and dive into those you like. Each blog has a Subscribe button. Click that and you will get notified by email every time there is a new post in that blog. You can Unsubscribe at any time. With the Search function you can search for any text in a specific blog or across all blogs.

We want to hear from you. Get the creative juices flowing and let us hear your ideas at contact@usgo.org.
