Hirata Hironori emerged victorious in the 13th Amateur Top Ten.
An inter-city match was held between Prague and Berlin which ended with honors shared: 4-4.
On June 11-12 Ishida Yoshio Hon'inbo defeated Rin Kaihō Meijin to complete a successful defense of his Hon'inbo title with a clean sweep. Lately, Ishida seemed to have had Rin's number. We lack a "current"photo, so we attach this lovely one from their match the previous year.
