Jim and I (and Ken Blake) had a great visit to Southwestern University yesterday to take a deeper diver into the facilities for next summer's Go Congress.
Its going to be a great venue. It is a small campus (normally around 1500 students), so it is easy to get around. We will be the only group on campus that week, and we will have full access to what they have to offer. Southwestern is incredibly excited for us to be there and are bending over backwards to ensure we have everything we need. Even though it is a small campus, they have all the space we could ever want. Aside from the playing and lecture rooms, we ill have access to a theater (maybe we will have some movies to show, let us know if there is something you'd like to see), exercise rooms, indoor swimming pool, tennis and pickle ball courts, indoor running track, a great (and recently award winning) cafeteria, a pub and so much more.
In addition, there are excellent options for housing. Aside from the more economical typical dorm rooms, they also have apartments, some with full kitchens and others with kitchenettes that will be less expensive than typical hotel rooms.
I'll provide more details in future posts, but wanted to let you know that after our site visit yesterday, Jim and I are even more excited about the prospects for a great Go Congress.
See you in July. It's going to be BIG!
