The San Diego Go Club, which has had only two homes in the last 25-years, moved to a new gathering place this week.
The place's name remains the same, "At Ease Game," but it has moved to larger quarters .8-mile away from the previous address, still on Miramar Road:
8400 Miramar Road
Suite 250
San Diego, CA 92126
SDGC will be meeting at "At Ease Games" every Thursday from 7-11 p.m. Boards and stones are provided for the players. Player strengths are from beginners (free lessons) to 7-dans. All ages are welcome.
The new "At Ease Games" is more than twice the size of the old one and has a separate room just for SDGC (see attachment). There is plenty of free parking.
There are several other rooms reserved for war board games and games like Dungeons and Dragons. There is even a full kitchen.
San Diego Go Club, which is over 50-years old, used to meet in homes, libraries, and schools. Then it spent 25-years at Twiggg's coffee shop, where it was allowed to store go boards and stones, until Covid. Since Covid, SDGC has been meeting at "At Ease Games" and holding its large tournaments at the San Diego Chess Club in Balboa Park.

As I write this blog, Los Angeles is still burning. My heart goes out to all who have lost so much property and friends. I did see on an internet post that former AGA president Andy Okun, who lives in West L.A., is currently safe along with his family and home. But the blaze continues.
