About this event
Kenro Osawa (Nihon Ki-in4p) is coming back this summer for more games and teaching on 22-23 June 2024 from 10:00am - 6:00pm (Check-in at 9:30am). This time Kenro will be joined by Atsushi Tsuruyama (Nihon Ki-in 8p) to provide additional teaching and commentary. The venue will again be the wonderful Japan House Los Angeles (https://www.japanhousela.com/). The format will also be similar with the pros playing simultaneous games, instructing, guiding exercises, and offering semi-private focused teaching sessions.
Cost is $40 per day (one or both days may be attended). As with last year, focused teaching sessions with the pros can be purchased as an add-on. For registration, more details, and Kenro's "Igo Geek" branded store, go to:
https://www.igogeekusa.com/events
For players not participating in a focused teaching session after the main seminar, self-paired games may be played. We will have some clocks, and if players wish we will proctor AGA rated games.
After the event, the pros will be traveling to San Francisco to host a bay area version of the event the following weekend. (In both cases, event registration fees cover expenses of the event and of the professional players, with any overages going to our respective Go club chapters, while the focused lesson fees go directly to the professionals.)
