2010 American Go Yearbook Released
Published on 7/29/2011
The complete
2010 American Go Yearbook
is now available for download.
The 123-page full-color
PDF
includes a wealth of material
culled from last year’s reporting in the American Go E-Journal, as well as latest ratings and a list of AGA chapters. Yearbook Managing Editor Chris Garlock calls the 8th annual Yearbook “in many ways our most ambitious yet.” “Now, as a PDF-only publication, we’re hot-linked to a staggering amount of great online content that we never had the space for as a print publication,” says Garlock. “And as fabulous as we think that Yearbook has always looked, it’s so much better now in full color.” The
Yearbook
brings together previously-published Special Edition reports on the
U.S. Go Congress
, the
World Amateur Go Championship
and the
Cotsen
with other features – also previously released – such as the
Member’s Edition Collection Of Games, Commentaries & More
,
The Year in Headlines
,
Games & Commentaries
,
Instruction
,
The Go Player’s Guide to the World
,
Go Spotting
and
Youth
reports.
New material includes a 10-page
Go Tools
section covering go books, software and hardware; the 10-page
Scoreboard
section, with full-color photos from events held in 2010; a snapshot of
ratings
as of July 17; the
top 50 players with most games/events
from both 2010 and 1991-2010; bios, photos and contact info on
America’s Teaching Professionals
, and a photo gallery of
U.S. Titleholders
2010. “We hope you enjoy and use this Yearbook for many years to come,” says Garlock. “We welcome your comments and suggestions at
journal@usgo.org
, especially since it’s now easy for us to correct the PDF. We look forward to continuing to bring you go news, photos and games from the global go community in the EJ, on our website, in our Special Reports and in the 2011 Yearbook. And yes, for those who prefer a hard copy of the Yearbook, we’re looking into a ‘print-on-demand’ option.”
