Eternal Cup Southern California Go Championship Returns After Four-Year Hiatus

Chris Garlock | Published on 9/20/2024

The prestigious Eternal Cup Southern California Go Championship is set to make a highly anticipated return this Fall after a four-year break due to the pandemic. Organized by the Orange County Go Club, the tournament will take place on November 9-10, 2024, and promises to be the largest in its history thanks to new sponsors -- including Fuland Capital -- and generous donations.

Hosted at the World Journal Newspaper (世界日) headquarters in Monterey Park, about 15 miles from downtown Los Angeles, the tournament will offer an exciting two-day, six-round competition with a total prize pool of $6,000. The tournament champion will take home $1,600, while the runner-up in the Open section will receive $1,000. Beautifully designed trophies will also be awarded to top finishers.

The World Journal Newspaper, the largest Chinese-language publication in North America, will help amplify the event's visibility. Free pizza lunch will be provided to participants on both days.

To compete, participants must register online at http://goclubs.org/ by November 6, 2024. No walk-ins will be accepted.
