Join us for our annual 4-round AGA-rated paired tournament! There will be a nice prize for everyone, and all playing levels are welcome. Prizes The top three A-division finishers win cash prizes ($200, $100, $50), while all other players will get to select a new go book or other go-related item to take home. Fee $15 for Adults $10 for high school age or younger Time Controls Fisher time (aka "Bonus time"): 20 minutes basic, with 15 seconds added after each move -- this equates to 57.5 minutes for each player in a 300-move (ie., longish) game. Requirements All players must have a current AGA membership or a one-day tourney pass. Food Free refreshments provided. Players can order lunch ($9.00) from a Chinese restaurant menu. Our tournament‘s traditional Problem Cake will be served at the end of lunch. Conservative Schedule (we actually expect the tournament to finish earlier): 8:30-9:30 AM - Registration & Refreshments 10:00 AM - Round 1 12:00 PM - Round 2 2:00 PM - Lunch 2:45 PM - Round 3 4:45 PM - Round 4 6:45 PM - Prizes for everyone Note: The Syracuse Go Club runs this tournament at a loss. The cost of renting the venue ($150), paying the cash prices ($350), and providing a book prize to every other player far exceeds the tournament registration fees collected.

It‘s that time of year again. Stony Brook Go Club presents the 2024 Sakura Matsuri tournament! And as always, no entrance fee! The tournament will be an AGA-rated tournament, with 4 rounds, split into 3 division, from the dan level to the low kyu level. There will be a variety of prizes for winners in each division. Food will be served: Breakfast at 10AM and Lunch at 1:30PM. During the tournament, there will be a Japanese Cultural Sakura Matsuri Festival, so this is a perfect opportunity for a family outing while you play Go!
