Join us for our annual 4-round AGA-rated paired tournament! There will be a nice prize for everyone, and all playing levels are welcome.
Prizes
The top three A-division finishers win cash prizes ($200, $100, $50), while all other players will get to select a new go book or other go-related item to take home.
Fee
$15 for Adults
$10 for high school age or younger
Time Controls
Fisher time (aka "Bonus time"): 20 minutes basic, with 15 seconds added after each move -- this equates to 57.5 minutes for each player in a 300-move (ie., longish) game.
Requirements
All players must have a current AGA membership or a one-day tourney pass.
Food
Free refreshments provided. Players can order lunch ($9.00) from a Chinese restaurant menu. Our tournament‘s traditional Problem Cake will be served at the end of lunch.
Conservative Schedule (we actually expect the tournament to finish earlier):
8:30-9:30 AM - Registration & Refreshments
10:00 AM - Round 1
12:00 PM - Round 2
2:00 PM - Lunch
2:45 PM - Round 3
4:45 PM - Round 4
6:45 PM - Prizes for everyone
Note: The Syracuse Go Club runs this tournament at a loss. The cost of renting the venue ($150), paying the cash prices ($350), and providing a book prize to every other player far exceeds the tournament registration fees collected.
