The New York Institute of Go in Manhattan (NYIG) is excited to be hosting former world champion Kim Jiseok 9p on the weekend of October 28-29 in New York City! Mr. Kim is currently ranked #25 in the world and won his first world title in the 19th Samsung Cup in 2014. He recently visited the US for the 2023 US Go Congress where he played simuls with over 100 players throughout the week and gave lectures and game reviews to many Go fans in attendance.

While details are not yet set in stone, NYIG is currently planning to host a one-day tournament on 10/28 and a one-day workshop by Mr. Kim on 10/29 where participants will have the opportunity to play and learn from him. Additional social events will be planned for the evenings, such as a Q&A session or Pair Go event. Mark these dates on your calendar now and don’t miss this special opportunity to meet one of the strongest Go players in the world! If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions, please contact Stephanie yin at info@ny-go.org. Further details will be announced within the next several weeks.
