Three Candidates Vie for AGA Presidency for 2026-2028 Term

Chris Garlock | Published on 6/1/2026

Three candidates — Gurujeet Khalsa, Jonas Acres and Devin Fraze — are under consideration for president of the American Go Association for the 2026-2028 term, with the AGA Board expected to vote during its June 14 meeting.

The AGA board’s presidential search committee conducted candidate interviews last week, according to AGA Board Chair Daniel Lambert. Following those interviews, the committee will prepare executive summaries for each candidate and deliver them to the board this week. Board members have already received the candidates’ statements of intent.

The board will discuss the candidates, question the committee if necessary, and vote during the June 14 board meeting, scheduled for 8-10 p.m. Eastern.

AGA members and chapter leaders may attend the board meeting by contacting Lambert directly -- daniel.lambert@usgo.org -- though discussion of the candidates and the vote itself will take place in executive session.
