Northern California Ing Cup Draws 83 Players, Rui Naiwei Takes Grand Prize

On February 1, Northern California Ing Cup brought together 83 players spanning five bands, from professional to novice. This year’s field included several well-known players, among them Rui Naiwei, Jiang Zhujiu, Jiang Mingjiu, and Jimmy Cha, who has recently returned to the Los Angeles area.

A total of $3,000 in prizes was shared across five competition bands. Rui Naiwei finished undefeated to claim the overall Grand Prize.


Overall (Open):
Rui Naiwei; 2nd: Jiang Zhujiu; 3rd: Ding Rujun

Band 1 (9D–3D): Sun Haihao; 2nd: Zhang Zeyuan; 3rd: Adam Miller

Band 2 (2D–1K): Anderson Tsai; 2nd: Andrew Suen; 3rd: Jake Xia

Band 3 (2K–6K): Pan Hongkai; 2nd: Lev Marcus F.; 3rd: Two-way tie: Dave Marvit & May Zhang.

Band 4 (7K–100K): John Lee; 2nd: Andy Zhou; 3rd: Bruce W. Bailey
