The American Collegiate Go Association (ACGA) is holding its first Spring Open event in Boston on April 7 and 8, at MIT's Whittaker Building, beginning at 10 AM. On April 7, Chinese 1p Stephanie Mingming Yin will lead an all-day workshop and review session, free for college students, and $20 for anyone else who attends - lunch will be provided, as well as the chance for questions and personalized review. On April 8, a sit-down tournament ($15, free for college students) will be held at the same location, complete with prizes and a chance to apply the learning from the previous day. "We strongly encourage any interested players in the New England area to attend," says ACGA organizer Cole Pruitt, "especially college students, for whom everything will be free."
