Not only will this year’s U.S. Go Congress feature brand-new game clocks, the AGA is making them available to chapters at cost.
“With record setting participation in the US Open at the Go Congress in Portland last year we barely had enough of our aging Ing clocks to meet the need,” reports AGA President Gurujeet Khalsa. The AGA Board directed a purchase of new clocks and a bulk order has been made. The selected clock (pictured) is from polgote.com, a company run by Mateusz Surma 1P and successfully used in European events.
“We have ordered extra clocks to make them available to AGA chapters that want them at cost,” says Khalsa. Chapters interested should email contact@usgo.org and indicate how many clocks they would be interested in. The clocks are for chapter use only, and not for resale. Pick-up will be at the Go Congress only.
The clocks support settable timings for Byo-yomi, Fischer, Absolute and others with English countdowns in byo-yomi periods and when time is running out. They remember prior settings for each type of timing and don’t need to be reprogrammed when turned off and turned back on. The clocks weigh about eight oz. and the dimension of their box is 43x32x35cm. Click here for a tutorial on how to set the clocks.
