Solution follows    (or click here to download SGF)

Horrible.
Black 1 is a disaster. White simply descends to 2 to force Black to connect at 3. White 4 links up to destroy Black's corner. See the SGF for an even better line for White depending on the balance of ko threats.

Correct.
Black 1 takes the key point. The best that White can do is to capture a stone at 2. But then Black 3 saves most of the corner. Compare this position with the previous one.

White variation.
White 2 is too greedy. After Black makes simple forcing moves through 9, White dies.
