Solution follows    (or click here to download SGF)

Correct.
White 1 is the urgent point that effectively uses the stones in the upper right. White builds territory and can aim at the invasion at A. Next, Black will probably play at B or probe with C.

White mistake.
White 1 is a mistake in direction. Black immediately pounces with the attachment at 2. Through the continuation up to White 9, Black has built up a position in sente. Make sure that you always play this way in your games against this kind of corner formation.

Black variation.
Responding to White 1 with Black 2 is a mistake. White can now go back to play on the urgent point at B. Note that if Black insists on playing in the lower left, a play at A leaves less bad aji in the corner.
