Scholarships

To help offset the cost for young people attending the Congress, the American Go Foundation (AGF) provides scholarship funding. This year a grant from the AGF has made Youth registration free. Two additional scholarships are available that can be applied to Congress housing.

Youth Scholarships

Youth (17 and under) who play in any of the main 2025 online events (Redmond Cup, Girls Cup, North American Kyu Championship, Young Lions, or School Team tournaments) can apply for a $200 Tournament Scholarship.

Any Youth who has played or will play in one of these tournaments may apply here.  Applications will be held and approved once the applicant has participated in one of the tournaments.

College-Age Scholarships

Participants must be aged 18-26 and actively enrolled in an academic program. Graduate and undergraduate students are both eligible for a $300 scholarship. Applicants must be from the United States, Canada, or Mexico and may apply here.

Note:  Scholarships will be applied as credits to your on-site housing.
